A Sea of Andor Adorers

Host Kristin Baver introduces Andor creator Tony Gilroy alongside Genevieve O’Reilly and Adria Arjona just days before the premiere of Season 2. Looking out at the crowd, Gilroy is struck by the energy, noting that the fans are the true investors of the show and the reason they get to make it.

Dressing the Rebellion

Baver shifts the conversation to the show’s costume design, spearheaded by Michael Wilkinson. O’Reilly praises Wilkinson’s work on Mon Mothma’s wardrobe, describing the costumes as pieces of architecture. She teases a three-day wedding sequence in Season 2 where her costumes get even crazier and fans will see Mon Mothma dance.

Taking Home Tokens

When asked if they kept any props or wardrobe pieces from the set, Arjona shares that Wilkinson gifted her Bix’s boots. Rather than putting them in a display case, she wears them constantly, wanting to keep walking in Bix’s shoes. O’Reilly jokes she wishes she had stolen some jewelry. Gilroy admits he kept a French horn from the marching band sequence on Ferrix.

Reuniting Cassian and K-2SO

Baver asks Gilroy about Alan Tudyk’s return as K-2SO in Season 2. Gilroy explains that he purposefully held the character back because K-2SO is difficult to carry around in a grounded story, noting how often he is told to wait in the ship in Rogue One. Gilroy promises the wait will be worth it and reveals K-2SO will make his grand entrance in Episode 8.

The True Meaning of the Show

Before leaving the stage, Gilroy reflects on the core theme of Andor, stating that the show is about community and the Empire’s constant attempts to destroy it. He draws a parallel between the show’s themes and the massive fan community gathered in the room, ending on a message of hope and unity.
