Our STEAM Academy afternoons will include a series of special talks with representatives from Pinewood Studios! Members of the
Creature Effects Crew will be sharing experiences with interactive elements to illustrate some of the STEAM movie magic behind Star Wars in the areas of
DroidBuilding, Art Creation, Fabrication, Electronics and Puppeteering. Students will get to interact with the speakers and participate in demonstrations/activities
that reflect the topics of each talk.

[Ages 10-18] How do we take a droid from an idea on paper to an actual animated
creature for film and television screen? Join Paul Szebesta and members of the
team as they detail the journey of a droid from concept and design to a fully built
and functioning character. From design features to materials to production, the
journey of building a droid will be explored and highlighted, showing a unique
application of the model making process helping to make Star Wars the rich and
character driven universe we all love!
