Our STEAM Academy afternoons will include a series of special talks with representatives from Pinewood Studios! Members of the Creature Effects Crew will be sharing experiences with interactive elements to illustrate some of the STEAM movie magic behind Star Wars in the areas of DroidBuilding, Art Creation, Fabrication, Electronics and Puppeteering. Students will get to interact with the speakers and participate in demonstrations/activities that reflect the topics of each talk.

Join Thea Keenan as she explains how the creatures of the Star Wars Sequels were brought to life through the use of costume materials and puppets. She will also show how computer design and technology are now being used when approaching the design of these practical effects. Students will see how this technology and her amazing fabrication work can truly make a mythical creature come alive!
