Panel Recap
The High Republic: For Light and Life was a major publishing panel focused on Phase II: Quest of the Jedi. Moderated by Krystina Arielle, the panel brought together High Republic authors Claudia Gray, Justina Ireland, Daniel José Older, Cavan Scott, and Charles Soule with Lucasfilm’s Michael Siglain and James Waugh. Kristin Baver and Marc Thompson joined later as special guests.
The panel explained that Phase II would move the timeline 150 years before Phase I, into an earlier age of exploration when Republic and Jedi communication across the frontier was less developed. The writers discussed how that technological and social distance would shape the new era, including droid-based communication and Pathfinder teams made up of Jedi and Republic members.
The panel revealed or previewed several Phase II titles and covers, including Convergence, Quest of the Hidden City, The Nameless Terror, Marvel’s new Star Wars: The High Republic run, Cataclysm, Quest for Planet X, Path of Vengeance, and The Battle of Jedha. Charles Soule also revealed The Blade, a comic exploring Porter Engle’s backstory and connecting to the Barash Vow.
Kristin Baver appeared to reveal the cover and interior art from The Art of Star Wars: The High Republic, including concept art for Yoda, Marchion Ro, and Ember. Marc Thompson appeared to discuss his audiobook performance for Marchion Ro and how he approached the character’s voice. James Waugh emphasized that The High Republic had become a larger storytelling era with room for future expansion beyond the books and comics already announced.
