Panel Overview
Luis and Josefina Gálvez presented a focused look at Star Wars collectibles made or distributed in Peru and the broader South American market during the late 1970s and 1980s. The panel covered licensed and unlicensed material, including toys, cards, books, cloth goods and unusual locally produced items that many North American collectors rarely encounter. The session helped collectors understand how Star Wars merchandise circulated outside the main U.S. and European markets, where authorization, importation and local production could be inconsistent. It also emphasized the research challenge of documenting products from regions where surviving catalogs and company records are limited.
