Panel Overview

In 1999, Star Wars fans old and new met Padmé Amidala for the first time. A teenage queen with a commanding presence, and a distinctive red dress and makeup style, Padmé was hard to miss, and intentionally so. Of the entire prequel trilogy, the case could strongly be made that The Phantom Menace is her movie more than it is anyone else’s. It’s Naboo’s struggles that form the catalyst for the plot. It’s her bid to save her people, her determination to do what she must at any cost that puts Chancellor Palpatine in a position to take over the galaxy as Emperor. Simply put: without Padmé, there is no Star Wars. Her legacy and influence extends far beyond the story. As the title of this panel suggests, Padmé Amidala impacted a generation of kids who grew up watching her take on the trade federation, battle on Geonosis, and set the early stirrings of the rebellion into motion. This panel unites a group of Padmé fans to talk about her influence and appearances across Star Wars canon. From the prequel films, to the Clone Wars series, and beyond to the ways she influenced other characters, Bail Organa, Mon Mothma, Ahsoka Tano, to carry on her legacy.
