From a Galaxy Far, Far Away to a Disney Park Near You explored the long relationship between Lucasfilm, Star Wars, and Disney Parks. Hosted by Amy Ratcliffe, the panel featured Walt Disney Imagineering and Lucasfilm speakers looking back at decades of park experiences, from early Disney and Lucasfilm collaborations through Star Tours, Star Wars Weekends, Galaxy’s Edge, Galactic Starcruiser, and Disney Cruise Line’s Hyperspace Lounge.
Tony Baxter discussed the early history of Disney and Lucasfilm collaborations, including Star Tours and Captain EO. Asa Kalama and Scott Trowbridge discussed the development of Galaxy’s Edge and shared behind-the-scenes material about the design and engineering of Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run. Matt Martin connected Galaxy’s Edge to Lucasfilm storytelling and publishing, while Ann Morrow Johnson discussed the branching story possibilities of Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.
The panel also looked ahead to new park experiences. Boba Fett and Fennec Shand were announced for appearances at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park beginning May 28, 2022. The Mandalorian and Grogu were also announced for future appearances at Galaxy’s Edge. The panel included updates on MagicBand+ Batuu Bounty Hunters gameplay, Star Wars-themed AR lenses, Disney Wish offerings, Hyperspace Lounge, a prototype camtono, and music connected to Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.

Boba Fett and Fennec Shand were announced for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland Park beginning May 28, 2022. The Mandalorian and Grogu were announced as future additions to Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland Park. MagicBand+ Batuu Bounty Hunters gameplay was previewed for Black Spire Outpost. Star Wars-themed AR lenses were promoted for Disney Parks apps. Disney Wish and Hyperspace Lounge updates were shown, including a prototype camtono. Music connected to the Galactic Starcruiser performer Gaya was teased for release. A future Star Tours update was teased.
