This screening presentation gave Celebration IV attendees an early look at Fanboys, Kyle Newman’s comedy about Star Wars fans trying to break into Skywalker Ranch to see The Phantom Menace before release. The footage was introduced during the 30th anniversary weekend and was aimed directly at the kind of audience the film portrayed. The preview positioned Fanboys as both a road-trip comedy and a fan-culture time capsule, built around late-1990s Star Wars anticipation, friendship, obsession and the emotional build toward Episode I. The film starred Sam Huntington, Chris Marquette, Dan Fogler, Kristen Bell, Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen. A limited Fanboys prequel comic was also connected to the Celebration IV rollout, giving attendees another tie-in to the movie’s fictional fan journey.
