The Costume Pageant was a judged stage competition for Celebration IV costumers, held on the Petree Stage. Each pageant accepted a large field of participants, with fans competing for recognition as some of the finest costumers at the convention. The event rewarded construction, accuracy, creativity, stage presence and the ability to bring a Star Wars character or original costume concept to life in front of an audience. It was one of the weekend’s major fan-made showcases, turning the labor of armor building, sewing, makeup, prop making and character performance into a formal Celebration event.
