Panel Overview
Join celebrity MC Warwick Davis and celebrity judges Dave and Lou Elsey and John Mollo, for a competition between some of the best Star Wars costumes in Europe.
Event recap: The Costume Pageant showcased fan creativity across under-16 and over-16 categories, with Warwick Davis hosting and Dave Elsey, Lou Elsey, and John Mollo judging. The children’s category included clone troopers, Jedi, princesses, bounty hunters, and an Obi-Wan Kenobi with a convincing fighting stance. Ray Park presented the children’s awards, with prizes going to a toddler dressed as Yoda, a handmade Boba Fett costume, and a creative Lego Darth Vader costume that won first place.
The adult category featured a wide range of costumes, including Jedi, Expanded Universe characters, Aayla Secura, Shaak Ti, a Jabba’s palace slave girl, Mon Mothma, and Asajj Ventress. The pageant developed an unexpected running joke when Warwick Davis’s cue cards were mixed up, causing him to describe the wrong costumes as contestants crossed the stage. Jeremy Bulloch presented the adult awards, which went to Hoth Han Solo with Tauntaun, Amidala’s Senate gown from Attack of the Clones, and a Wookiee costume that won first place after its wearer revealed he had nearly fainted from heat exhaustion earlier that day.
