Ben Burtt’s Q&A focused on the sound design and editorial work that gave Star Wars much of its identity. As the creator of iconic sounds such as lightsabers, blasters, droids and creature voices, Burtt could explain how everyday recordings, experimentation and editing became the audio language of the saga. A Celebration IV audience would have been especially interested in how those sounds were discovered, layered and matched to images. The session likely mixed behind-the-scenes stories, technical explanation and questions about the long life of sounds created for the original trilogy.
