Panel Overview
Learn about the history of the Star Wars Radio Drama whose popularity helped save National Public Radio and led to a renaissance in the world of audio adventures. Through rare images, interviews with behind the scenes artists, and production materials, this presentation celebrates the contributions of those who worked together to accomplish the near impossible – turn the visually stunning Star Wars film into a thrilling radio adventure. Special emphasis is placed on the life and creative genius of scriptwriter Brian Daley whose contributions to Star Wars include not only writing all three original trilogy radio dramas, but three of the earliest expanded universe novels which featured Han Solo. The late Daley’s words were the heart of the radio dramas and his contributions will be explored in detail. Special thanks to Brian’s widow Lucia St. Clair Robson, Brian’s siblings, and executive producer Dr. Richard Toscan for special permissions and images.
