Steve Sansweet is a longtime journalist, author, and one of the most recognizable figures in Star Wars fandom. After more than two decades as a reporter and Los Angeles bureau chief for The Wall Street Journal, he joined Lucasfilm in 1996, where he spent 15 years as Director of Content Management and Head of Fan Relations, serving as a key connection between the company and Star Wars fans around the world.
Beginning in 1999, he played an integral role in launching Star Wars Celebration, the franchise’s official fan convention, where he became a familiar face as a stage host, panelist, and fan ambassador, helping shape the event into the global gathering it is today. He later founded Rancho Obi-Wan, the nonprofit museum in Northern California that houses the Guinness World Record–recognized largest collection of Star Wars memorabilia. Sansweet has also written or co-written numerous books on the franchise, making him one of the leading historians and ambassadors of Star Wars fandom.
