Panel Recap

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 opened the final day of Celebration Anaheim 2022 with a major animation-focused panel on the Celebration Stage. Hosted by David Collins, the panel featured Brad Rau, Jennifer Corbett, Matt Michnovetz, Dee Bradley Baker, and Michelle Ang discussing the first season of The Bad Batch and previewing the next chapter for Clone Force 99.

The panel began with a surprise introduction from Dave Filoni, who praised the creative team behind the series. The discussion then moved through the making of Season 1, the show’s connection to The Clone Wars, the evolution of the Bad Batch as a family unit, and the emotional dynamic between Omega and the clones. Baker and Ang reflected on favorite scenes from the first season, including Omega’s compassion for Crosshair and Wrecker creating a room for Omega aboard the Marauder.

The panel also previewed Season 2. A new trailer debuted, showing the Batch with updated armor, Omega with a new look and her own helmet, and the return of Gungi, the Wookiee Jedi youngling from The Clone Wars. The audience also saw an exclusive clip from the upcoming season, featuring the Batch on a tropical world, Omega training with Tech, and Hunter and Echo escaping crab-like creatures.
