Our STEAM Academy afternoons will include a series of special talks with representatives from Pinewood Studios! Members of the Creature Effects Crew will be sharing experiences with interactive elements to illustrate some of the STEAM movie magic behind Star Wars in the areas of DroidBuilding, Art Creation, Fabrication, Electronics and Puppeteering. Students will get to interact with the speakers and participate in demonstrations/activities that reflect the topics of each talk.

[Ages 10-18] Great aliens, creatures and droids are made real and alive once paint is used to add those little details that truly build the character. Henrik Svensson will share behind the scenes stories and official creature photos of many of these beloved characters in the Star Wars franchise and the fun situations they have created on set over the years. From colour scheme choices for new droids to working with Frank Oz on Yoda and touching up BB-8 on the Millennium Falcon, this inspiring talk will highlight the ways Art is a key factor in making the look of Star Wars complete!
