A Father and Son Reunion

Host Anthony Carboni introduces Temuera Morrison and Daniel Logan, the Star Wars father-son duo. Morrison expresses gratitude to be in Tokyo, noting how respectful the Japanese fans are and how much he appreciates their samurai-like values.

A Lifelong Bond

The conversation turns to the actors’ real-life relationship. Morrison explains that when they first met on the set of Attack of the Clones in 2000, he knew Logan had a tough upbringing without a father figure. Morrison decided to step into that role and treat Logan like his real son. Logan echoes the sentiment, expressing gratitude for Morrison’s mentorship while joking that he is still waiting on child support payments from the year 2000.

Returning as Boba Fett

Morrison shares a story about auditioning for The Mandalorian. He recalls dressing up in the full Boba Fett armor to meet with Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni. After exchanging silent approving nods with the producers, Morrison realized he had the job and immediately thought not to tell Daniel. Logan plays along, acting shocked and claiming he had no idea there was a Boba Fett show on Disney+.

A Family Business

Morrison brings his young daughter Waipunarangi onto the stage. He explains that her name is derived from the Pleiades star cluster, known as Subaru in Japanese. As she confidently steals the spotlight and grabs the microphone, Morrison playfully pitches her to Lucasfilm as the perfect casting choice for a live-action young Omega.

A Take Off Attitude

Morrison shares a memory of working with George Lucas, noting that the director always instructed him to look up at the end of his scenes so the visual effects team could add him flying away on his jetpack. Morrison turns this into a life lesson, encouraging fans to have a take off attitude and tackle life with tenacity.

A Song Together

The interview concludes with Logan thanking the fans for supporting him since he was a child, followed by the duo singing a traditional New Zealand song together.
