A Powerful Trio

Host Anthony Carboni introduces Rosario Dawson and executive producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni to the Celebration stage. The trio takes their seats to roaring applause, and Carboni notes how incredible it is that the three of them have continued to collaborate on this story.

Preparing for Season 2

Favreau reveals that the second season of Ahsoka is set to begin filming in about a week. Dawson shares how intensely she has been training for the role, including eating with chopsticks in her left hand to become ambidextrous for fight choreography. She notes that getting to duel Diana Lee Inosanto again is a dream come true and expresses excitement about acting alongside Hayden Christensen again, pointing out their shared history of being in the same acting class as teenagers.

Honoring George Lucas’s Vision

Dave Filoni speaks at length about his approach to handling Anakin Skywalker. He emphasizes that George Lucas already told Anakin’s story perfectly, so Filoni’s goal is to continue telling Ahsoka’s story and use Anakin only as he directly relates to her journey. He shares memories of learning about the character while sitting in the editing room with Lucas during The Clone Wars.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away

Carboni asks Filoni why he decided to take the story to an entirely different galaxy at the end of the first season. Filoni jokes that it was simply a good place to hide Ezra Bridger, but explains that a new galaxy gives him freedom to take big creative swings and explore new concepts without interfering with the established Star Wars universe.

Season 2 Teases

Filoni gives the crowd a taste of what to expect in Season 2, revealing that half of the season will focus on a massive, all-out war. He confirms that fans will see much more of Thrawn, Ezra, and Hera, more trouble from Chopper, and that Zeb will finally be making his live-action series debut.

A Tribute to the Fans and Carrie Fisher

Dawson concludes the panel by sharing a memory of Carrie Fisher at a convention years ago. She recalls watching Fisher stay late into the night with her dog on her lap, signing autographs for a massive line of fans long after the convention had shut down. Dawson uses the memory to thank the fans, crediting their passion and support for making Season 2 possible.
