A Triumphant Return

Host Kristin Baver introduces Ahmed Best, noting that he has been part of the Star Wars family for more than 20 years and that the year marks the 20th anniversary of Revenge of the Sith. Best recalls his time on that film, likening it to a strange high school reunion where the cast finally got to reconnect after years apart during the visual effects process.

Becoming Master Kelleran Beq

The conversation shifts to Best’s more recent role as Jedi Master Kelleran Beq. Best explains that creating the character for Jedi Temple Challenge was a dream come true, combining his love for game shows and his lifelong martial arts training. He wanted Kelleran to be an enthusiastic, passionate teacher, noting that he felt the franchise had too many reluctant Jedi teachers and wanted a character who truly loved raising the next generation.

Kelleran Beq in The Mandalorian

Best shares the story of how Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni later called him to bring Kelleran Beq into The Mandalorian to save Grogu. He joked that there was no more important job in the galaxy and jumped at the opportunity.

Darth Jar Jar and Rebuild the Galaxy

They touch on Best’s return to Jar Jar Binks, this time as the villainous Darth Jar Jar, in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy. Best shares how much fun he had doing comedy ad-libs in the recording booth, revealing that his line “I’ve always been the Phantom Menace” was improvised.

A Special Announcement

Baver plays a special video message from Rebuild the Galaxy showrunners Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit. The duo announces that the show is returning for Season 2, officially subtitled Pieces of the Past.

Ahsoka Returns

Best introduces surprise guest Ashley Eckstein, the original voice of Ahsoka Tano. Eckstein takes the stage holding a LEGO BrickHeadz version of Ahsoka and gets emotional while sharing how much it means to return to the character. She notes that fans have spent a generation experiencing Star Wars through Ahsoka’s eyes and repeats her sentiment that Ahsoka lives in all of us.
